03:18 pm - Petition against the proposed illegal filesharing laws
While I do believe that people have a right to protect their intellectual property. The idea that people will get cut off from the internet without the level of proof against them that would stand up in a court of law is an infringement of civil liberties.

Read up on the topic and if you come to the same conclusion as me sign this:

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/dontdisconnectus/

If after reading up on it you come to a different conclusion then post it up here.

My darling lady friend decided my phone was rather mucky and would do well to be put through the washing machine. No problem as I only ever buy cheap shitty phones. However I will be incommunicado for a short time.

04:56 pm - PG Porn involving Serenity actors
The concept is porn films made with no sexual content. Surreal and humorous.
These two have Captain Reynolds and Wash from Firefly in.

03:03 pm - Moral Banking?
Anyone know about any UK based banks which have any sets of ethical conduct that they adhere to?

Essentially it is time to quit Barclays as they have forced upon me a card with RFID in that I really don't want. So I'm looking for a bank which may not have the best rates but could be considered ethical (or as ethically possible for a bank).

Just to set people thinking about this: Say you morally think something is wrong (Diamond mining in Africa, eating meat, totalitarian governments, whatever) yet you leave whatever money you have with organisations that financially support such actions. Isn't that just a really tepid way to live life?

12:08 pm - just sent to TV licensing
My name is William Segerman I live at 28 Madehurst Close, Brighton, BN2 0YR.
I do not watch TV. As I understand it there is no legal obligation for me to prove to you that I do not watch TV. As I understand the law in this country, I am innocent until proven guilty and there is no obligation for me to let one of your bully boys into my home to prove I'm not breaking the law. If you send more of your operatives to my home they will get the same response as the last, a polite "piss off". Furthermore as a law abiding citizen I consider this harassment and if this continues I will be contacting the police to see what action I can take.

Yours Sincerely

William Segerman

01:33 am - GEF
I'm not sure I can conform to the hot/not format as there were lots of intense experiences that were both.

So here are events of note:

-Winning the archery competition, giving away the prize but getting something anyway.
-Grand Melee (the circle of treachery for martial competition winners) Managing to have time to physician myself and ending up coming second.
-Walking into the centre of a multi faction shouting match and arresting the focal point.
-Having to arrest and execute lots of members of my own faction. Great RP and all but I hope I don't have to do it too often.
-The entire Scullion incident.
-Ruth cooking a fry up each morning.
-Getting to know the Archers Guild
-The death of Gashwang.
-Jackals finally looking like we are getting it together.
-Still enjoying the positive response from the Blunderbow and enjoying shooting people.
-Working out a lot more about how to play Dicky
-Pulling out the card with Sage Ettiquette on and getting briefs on how to adress the person I'm talking to.

There's many more but that will do for now.

Fixed up my unicycle and went out on our street. Was soon joined by the other guy who unicycles on our street, then a third guy who also lives on our road and unicycles. Bear in mind this is a small close with 30 houses. Only in Brighton.

Interesting things:

Spraying latex is really easy and I now have a spray booth set up in my garage.

Have a new band: bass, lead guitar, drums. They randomly contacted me saying they needed an eccentric frontman. Had first jam and they're a really tight hard rock/blues outfit looking for a new direction. Sweet!

I really enjoyed the book of Twilight

I need to buy more pants

nice mask: http://www.willsegerman.com/2009/05/mask-for-ben.html

CWQ now has 6 songs fully recorded, but waiting for the editing and post production is agonising

Looking for my next big make

Life in general (apart from the occasional existential angst related blip) is ticking along nicely.
Current Location: The Lab
Current Mood: [mood icon] contemplative
Current Music: Rockin' the Suburbs - Ben Folds

Steampunk spurs!

more pics here:

http://www.willsegerman.com/2009/02/steampunk-spurs.html

The question for all of you is this: What accessories would a young, steampunk, nobleman, disaffected artist have? Any good ideas will promptly be made for my CWQ character.

09:13 pm - clockwork quartet and a big gun
the clockwork quartet launch party is on the 24th at eds place, gimme a shout if you'd like to come along. The steampunk special issue of Bizzarre is out on the 20th, apparently we get 4 pages. Untill then I need to perfect the motherbastard of all banjo lines to recording level for next weekend.

Unrelated, I just finished a stupidly meaty gun prop which may be making an appearance at a serenity larp near you soon...

11:46 am - Leading a LARP event is...
... a lot like the experience of travelling. In the respect of during the experience: youre physically and mentally tired, strung out, stressed out, in over your head, people are relying on you, you're trying to juggle loads of things, etc... At the time of the experience you're thinking "Why the hell am I doing this?" but then after the event you realised how much you learnt about yourself and others. You think about the mistakes you made and how you could do it better next time and you start thinking about when you can do it next.

Thanks to everyone who supported me, helped out, didn't mind me shouting at them and generally put up with me in my sleep deprived stressed out state. I look forward to the time when I have all of this down and can just take all of this in my stride.

Highlights of the event:

When Ittimin was posessed by the war demon and was arguing we should attack. I agreed with her completely and pointed out she needed a bigger weapon than the small dagger she was carrying and she should use my sword. She handed over the dagger and I ordered the the two toughs standing nearby to restrain her. The look on Ittimin's face as she realised what I'd done was gold. Apologies El.

Falling asleep amongst the Crew and Togajuju (possibly on Barbina) listening to how Shanks was going to kill Dicky and take over. I love you guys.
